I now have the rear mounter water temp and oil pressure senders plugged in, and the coolant hoses and t-stat connected to the water pump. It’s kinda neat seeing the now-clean aluminum head sitting atop the darker and dirtier cast iron block.
What’s Left:
Intake manifold and gaskets
Rear coolant hoses
Charge pipe
Downpipe
Fuel lines/injectors and spark plugs
all those wires and vacuum lines
Slowly getting there.

Holy CIS Batman! That looks almost identical to the one out of my Saab! I knew Bosch got around but... wow.

Did you have the mating surface of the head trued up?

We cleaned the surface and used a honing stone or block on the head surface.
